CNN —In 1976, gunmen stormed a school bus carrying 26 children – ages 5 to 14 – and their bus driver in Chowchilla, California.
The Dairyland Union School District bus carrying 26 children and their bus driver was found empty and abandoned in July 1976.
The kidnappers ordered the children and their bus driver into a moving van hidden underground.
